Hardee's Septic Tank Service

Serving all of Johnston, Harnett, and Southern Wake Counties since 1967

My name is Bill Hardee.  I am the owner of Hardee's Septic Tank Service.  The company was started in 1967 by W. R. (Randall) Hardee.  It was started with a single truck with a 1,000 gallon tank chained to a flatbed truck.  It didn't even have a pump.  We modified the intake on the truck to create a vacuum in the tank.  It was slow but it worked.

In 1973, when I was in college, my dad convinced me to start my own business to help meet expenses.  I set up a truck similar to his.  We agreed to set up areas of operation.  My dad serviced from Angier, NC  south to parts of Cumberland and Sampson Counties.  I serviced the areas north of Angier, including all of Wake County.  If one of us needed help or wanted to go on vacation, the other would step in.

Eventually, business grew to the point that the old pump-less method was too slow.  We had to upgrade the trucks with commercial pumps so we could keep up with the demand.

My dad had an accident in 1985, which left him paralyzed from the neck down.  I looked after his business for him for a while.  When he decided he would not be able to pump tanks any longer, he sold his business to me.  I have been servicing the whole area since that time.  In 2003, due to traffic congestion around Raleigh, I had to restrict pumping in Wake County to the southern part of the county.

Our belief has always been that if you can't do a good job, you don't need to be doing it at all.  We strive for quality service and will give nothing less.  Not only is it our job to clean your tank, but we feel we have an obligation to help you learn about septic tanks so that you can better maintain them to give you a lifetime of service.  Our employees wholeheartedly endorse this belief.

For many years, I have also done inspections of septic systems for prospective buyers of houses that are on the market.  Until January 1, 2008, no certification was required for septic inspectors in North Carolina.  There were a lot of fly-by-night inspectors doing less than satisfactory inspections.  The certifications were much needed to weed out the bad inspectors. I graduated in 2007 as one of the first certified septic inspectors in the state.

We are insured, have all the necessary permits and certifications, and are ready to serve you.  We are charter members of the North Carolina Septic Tank Association, and are members of the Better Business Bureau, with a rating of A+.
